So you request to know the difference between ghosts and spirits? Yes, as a spirit myself, I agree, I am the perfect tutor. May I come in? Thank you.

Ghosts are inextricably linked to Place. You're familiar with The Ghost Of SoAndSo Hall or Whatsitsname Manor? It is the Place that possesses the ghost, not vice-versa.

Spirits, conversely, are free. They may be called, by Ouija or Medium, but they may accept or decline such... invitations. A spirit isn't constrained, it possesses freely. Place. Or people.

So it is we now understand each other, you and I, as one.

Very unique drabble! Some of the punctuation/grammar is slightly off but, other than that, I like it a lot. The ending is especially nice, making me wonder if the spirit is referring to me as a ghost!

Thanks Elizabeth, lovely comment. The grammar is deliberate, The idea is it may unsettle the reader a little, but the punctuation is just poor editing ;)
Yes, I wanted to leave the end deliberately vague as to whether a human is possessed or the the subject is a ghost.
Thanks again for the comment. much appreciated :)

This was a joy to read, Drew. I love the narrator's tone and the chilling closing line!

Never considered the differences before. Makes complete sense. Now I'm questioning the difference between the Holy Spirit and the Holy Ghost. Hmmm.

Thanks for the comment Michael, now that is something I hadn't thought of, and takes the idea a whole leap further on. Cheers :)
