There is a sculpture here, locked away for years, of a man clothed in animal skins. His one hand holds a club, his other is stretched out as if requesting help. There is something frightened, something awestruck, about the eyes.
The sculpture is by Piazo, famed for his lifelike creations in stone of ordinary people from an unremembered past. Critics praised the life and humanity he imbued into those sculpted faces.
Following his disappearance rumours surfaced that Piazo had created a time machine. Ridiculous though those wild rumours were, when you look into the awestruck, frightened eyes, you do wonder.
