I died today, and no one cared.
I died today, and not in some analogous, 'sort of' way; I'm talking about dying in the truest sense of the word; I ate the appetizers, entrée, dessert, and got the check.
The doctor called it a miracle, but the only thing I noticed when I woke up, was that no one was there with me; no one was holding my hand, tearfully telling me how much I meant to them, and that I simply must come back.
And just for that, I'm not telling anyone a damned thing about what comes next.

Great final sentence. Made me chuckle.
