In his dreams he sees monsters. Although they don’t appear monstrous at first, rather they smile and greet him. They lure him into their loving arms. Then they begin to change. Their heads are replaced with those of horrible things. He can’t leave and part of him doesn’t want to. He looks away, then back again. They remain. They will always be there. They will follow. Their faces will sear into his dreams, his mind, and eventually his eyes. There will be no mask they can hide behind then. But for now, he will see monsters only in his dreams.
