A Matter of Definition

The couple strolled down the street, chatting casually.
"I need to draw some cash", he said, when they arrived at an ATM machine on the corner.
The device had to be new, at least he had never seen it before.

"Hey, look! It's a brand new design."

"For LUCK press 'YES'" he read.
"Yes" - CLICK.
"One or two persons?"
"One" - CLICK.
"You or another person?"
"Me" - CLICK.
"Please take your ticket!"

"Let me try!", she demanded.
"Wow. Did you choose 2?"
"No, do it for yourself!"
"Ok."

She took her ticket.

A car crashed into the man, killing him immediately.
