Tonight will be the night.
Hatwa-Mana is trembling with excitement.

The old medicine man starts marking his chest and face with the traditional signs and colors.
Outside the teepee the grown men start dancing round the fire.

Soon he will become one himself. Man - and fire.
Ino-Uchi, his bride to be, is anticipating his dance.

Yes. He has killed his first bear. One of the animal's claws will be dangling from the hunter's neck, from this day forth.
The Chieftain is coming, leading the initiate towards the fire.

"Bedtime, dear, enough playing. Sleep tight, darling ...", mom says.

The last line is a perfect twist. I was also taken in. Good one!

    Thanks, again.
I remembered my younger brother, who used to play with two hankies, in which he had made knots, on one end.
