"... 99, 100", he counted.
But what was that?
"101, 102 ?", he continued.
He had suspected the entire thing of being ... an impossibility, right from the beginning.

When he had told Jane about his problems, she had asserted, that 100 would be the limit.

Now, where he was?
He closed his eyes, imagining, picturing, ...

Wait a moment! Had Jane ever claimed, this method were reliable in any way?

And - bad come to worse - he had lost the counting thread now...

"Oh well ..."
He started over: "1, 2, 3, ..., crap!"

Counting sheep just did not work.
