When Philip was seventeen he murdered a policeman. They’d been having an affair. The policeman was the uncle of Philip’s boyfriend, Scott.
Philip had fallen in love with the policeman but the relationship had quickly turned abusive. The policeman threatened to hurt Philip, and have him arrested on trumped up drug possession charges, if he didn’t perform certain demeaning sexual acts. Philip feared for his future and even his life so he poisoned the policeman’s coffee with a powerful compound.
Philip broke up with Scott when he left to study chemistry at University. He didn’t want a long distance relationship.
