The Secret Histories Of His Species
Black leather bound books hung from the ceiling impaled on meat hooks. The cleric had spent decades studying these archaic volumes, the secret histories of his species and the planet they inhabited. The cleric’s disturbing research had shaken his deeply held religious beliefs profoundly. It had become abundantly clear that his race had only been put there to kill, fuck and destroy.
The shattered cleric presented his findings to the Elitists that commissioned him. He couldn’t tell them anything they didn’t already know. During his ritual slaughter, the cleric’s mandibles were stripped, his tarsal claws pulled and his thorax crushed.

May I profer a small suggestion? Should "The cleric’s disturbing research had shook his deeply held religious beliefs profoundly." read "The cleric’s disturbing research had _shaken_ his deeply held religious beliefs profoundly."?
