How can we write when behind shotgun eyes are the West Coast tears of this strange love that we feel, that we have become?
How many times has continuity interrupted us from remembering exactly what made us all erasers of an iconoclastic sort?
How can it be said of us that throughout our crimson reign we never once offered our hosts brand new Cadillacs for their Sunday afternoon drives out in the country?
At least with fictitious knowledge we can doze in peace now, without fear of recrimination. Us little fleas can sleep. We protected you like all good parasites.

Thank you for the high praise, Drew! Very kind words indeed. This drabble is a bit of a departure for me, a little more abstract, a little more "lush" in terms of language. I'm delighted that you enjoyed it, Drew! :-)

Great drabble. A lot is open to interpretation. In one sense, it somewhat "logically" follows your Post Game drabble. You probably didn't mean it to. But it certainly stands on it's own as a dark critique open to 1000 divergent tangents. Good Job!

Thank you for reading and commenting, Richard; I really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to do so. I always enjoy reading your keen observations.

You do abstraction very well. I can certainly appreciate a drabble that can beautifully and poetically rip society and governments to pieces with harsh and unforgiving criticism. Definitely one of the best drabbles I've read.

Ohh this was very good and indeed a departure from your usual work! I love both styles but, this one was especially biting. Great job ^^
