Orville Slump suggested that the ten of them ride across town on their bicycles to have a picnic in the park. Orville Slump’s bicycle was the only one fitted with a basket so poor old Orv got saddled with carrying all the goodies.

Along the way, all nine of Orville Slump’s friends succumbed to nasty road traffic accidents brought on by careless cycling and ignorance of certain bicycle safety codes. This kept local ambulances busy.

When Orville Slump reached the park alone, he enjoyed a lovely afternoon in the shade of a big oak tree and ate all the food.

Loving the name of the hapless (yet happy) protagonist.

This drabble was inspired by a 1963 bicycle safety film called, One Got Fat. The film is terrifying! Check it out on Youtube and wikipedia. Well worth a watch.

That is great! The weird concept, the chilling end, all thoroughly enjoyable. Must admit, I grinned all the way through :)
