Birthday Girl

I was lucky that pay day was the same day as my 30th birthday. I decided to splurge and bought myself the dress and shoes that I saw in a shop last week. I realized it must really be my lucky day when those items were on sale now.
I went back home, showered and readied for my special day. Hair, makeup, new dress, all to perfection.
Picking up the cupcake with one candle on it, I sang 'happy birthday to me'. Then a tear fell on the candle putting it out. I shut the lights, my eyes and slept.
