Waiting for the first dark haired man to enter on the stroke of midnight carrying with him coal and wood to keep us warm, a mince pie for sustenance, whisky for good health, silver coins for prosperity and salt for flavour. Lastly an ivy leaf for friendship and long life.
Father went out of the back door and entered the front door. We had to accept that the hair went greyer and eventually the honour passed to another male member of the family.
Bad luck for women to do the deed!

Just waiting for that dark haired man! With Hope!

Haha! Great one, Marion. Sadly no dark haired man at our place. A short fair-haired woman made it first with her half-full wine glass to finish it off indoors because it was so cold outside. At least she left the keys in the door for this increasingly white-haired man, well, what’s left of it. That was lucky!
