“I like my ladies scary but not too scary…adds to the excitement, don’t you think, Mike?”

“Without a doubt, Colin.”

“How’s your whisky? Is it a good one?”

“Oh yes, just the way I like my women… feisty, and with a little pain when swallowed.”

Mike and Colin chuckle convivially.

“Oh yes… no pleasure without pain… theirs, not ours obviously.”

“Well, time for my beauty sleep, Colin. Got to keep the energy levels up for… you know what!”

After saying their goodnights, the friends switch off their computers and get ready for bed. Dentures out. Earplugs in. Electric blanket. Snore.

Pleased to see you’re following Drew, whom I regard as the drablmeister. He is not only an excellent writer and storyteller, but also he is most encouraging and supportive of those new to Drablr as well as the rest of us.

Just a bit of fun! I wanted to have a go at some dialogue as it's not something I feel confident with.

I have one or two questions about dialogue punctuation conventions you might be able to answer some time because I use dialogue quite a bit and am uncertain about good practice and convention.

I've never been one to exaggerate my prowess, but I certainly have friends that do that on a regular basis. And although we're not quite to the denture-removing stage yet, I'm sure they still will be then too. Great drabble.
