Three am. Some say strange things happen at that precise moment. For example, the creaking stair, the curtain swinging gently when she knows the window is closed. A fleeting shadow...
All of this plays on the writer's imagination. The only light is her computer screen. She is tense and skittish. She shakes her head to clear her thoughts. Perhaps she shouldn't write scary stories at such hour.
She lifts her cup to her lips. She takes a long, comforting sip. A contented sigh escapes her and then...a scream of pure horror.
An unseen hand had slipped sugar in her tea.

Oh NO! That is the worst! No, no, no... not the unseen hand, but the sugar in the tea! Frightful! I pride myself that I can taste just one single grain of sugar in a cup of tea!... but then I pride myself with lots of things that are untrue!🥴
A super, smile drabble for a wet Monday! Thanks Frenchie😊

Thanks Neville and Verity. 😊
Hahaha, my son put sugar in my coffee by mistake hence the idea of this drabble. What could be more horrifying for non sugar users than sugar? Definitely not ghosts! I drunk it though, as it was made with love... 😊

Sweetly Horrifying before you know the back story.... ;-)

Nice tension-building in this drabble. Unfortunately, I'm an uncultured American from the south. We drink sweet iced tea. At least I used to until I developed an allergy to tea and had to give it up.
