When he was in the right mood, she sought permission to go to her colleague's farewell party on Wednesday, just for one hour. Timidly, she suggested her sister could babysit.
''Nah, don't call your sister, I'll stay with the kids."
She couldn't believe how easily he had agreed.
Wednesday 6pm as she ran through the door, her phone pinged.
''Sorry luv, the lads forced me have a drink with them. Will be home late.''
It was too late to call her sister. She sat at the kitchen table. She should have known. She looked at her phone and wept bitterly.

What an utter git! Good story but makes me angry, Frenchie, because even if it’s fictional, I’m sure it happens a lot, or similar. I’m hoping that this will be the start of a mini series, where the woman gets her own back by draining his bank account somehow, poisoning him in a way that can’t be detected, or suggesting a walk along Beachy Head in Sussex and then giving him a nudge... but that might be too quick and easy. Make the b**tard suffer!

Thank Neville, for the suggestions. I quite like the Beachy Head in Sussex and the ''little'' nudge.😊
To raise awareness about domestic abuse, violence against women and children is one of the things I am passionate about. Though I write primarily about women and children being abused, I intend to write about men abuse too. We don't talk much about it but it is very real.
I had some earlier drabbles about a woman stabbing her partner after suffering years of abuse.

I find it remarkable, Frenchie, that men (usually men but not exclusively as you have noted) can apparently want to be with a woman, in many cases supposedly for life... and presumably love that woman.. and then abuse that woman and maybe her/their children, mentally, physically or both. It’s beyond my understanding I fear. Bullying of any kind is abhorrent!

We were watching The Duchess on BBC2 yesterday to avoid the footy and it was a true story about the Duke of Devonshire and his new young wife, Georgiana. Whilst he didn’t seem to have beaten her up as such, he was clearly very rough with her in the marital bed... and because she produced girls not boys (until later) he treated he abominably. Maybe I unusual as a bloke to get cross about abuse, but then again, I’m just a ‘big girl’s blouse’!

What a jerk. Guys like that need to be taught a lesson they won't forget. Where I come from, you take guys like that out in the woods for a little "hunting" trip. And if he gets mistaken for a deer then ....oops!
