''Look Mummy, I drew all the people I know."
I scooped my young daughter onto my lap.
''Show me.''
''This is Mrs Sullivan, Mr Dodger, Miss Polly,'' she pointed at matchstick people before a lopsided building.
I kissed the top of her head.
''And look, all the mummies after school.''
I scanned the ''mothers'' hoping to see myself.
''Sweetie, where is Mummy? and the big bear by the gate, is it Mr Summer?''
My little angel giggled with delight.
''Silly Mummy. That's not a bear, it's you! Big Mummy''

I knew then it was time to go on a diet.

Hahaha! Diet-schmiet! Just eat everything you like...(but less of it... and don’t eat before 8am or after 8pm. Probably don’t drink too much either, but hey, maybe drink the same amount but water it down, like I’m told the French do 🤔)

Hahaha, we only water down the "vin de table" (table wine, which reads as "cheap plonk" ).

Had some lovely Côtes de Thau rosé today at lunch for some guests. We holidayed in Mèze on the Étaing de Thau almost two years ago after my daughter’s wedding. This was a great memory. I didn’t water it down!

Frenchie, we heard a brief programme (15 minutes) on Radio 4 on Saturday with Michael Mosley (Just One Thing with Michael Mosley - episode 4 Change Your Mealtimes) about a very effective way to lose weight and lower cholesterol and improve your sleep etc all-in-one without stopping eating anything... just when you eat! We’re changing our regime (only very slightly) to take advantage of it (we hope). (It should be available on BBC Sounds if you’re interested).
