When he entered the coffee shop, she was already seated by the window. Her hands wrapped around her mug, she watched him making his way to her.
'Stay,' he said. 'I never meant to hurt you. I deserve a second chance.'
She stared at him, sizing him up and down, considering.
He offered her a lopsided, sad little grin but sure of his victory.
'Do you know what?' she purred.
'What?' he asked, eager and hopeful.
She gave him a dazzling smile.
'Get lost, you prick.'
On this, she got up, hailed a cab and disappeared in the morning rush.

Thank you so much, Neville. I did not even know there was a difference between the two. You know how much I appreciate when my mistakes are corrected. 😊 I have edited. Phew!

You’re welcome Frenchie. It’s difficult knowing whether to draw attention to things you might spot, but with autocorrect as omnipresent as the virus and the drabble medium tending to be quite speedy in production terms, I think most Drablrs, like you, are pleased that someone’s actually reading their output carefully! I make quite a few slips myself, usually by failing to copy-check carefully and I am very pleased when they’re pointed out.
Of course, careful copy-checking is exactly what I try to drum into my marketing students 🥴.

Are you saying I am not carefully copy-checking my work? she asked, eyes narrowing and glinting dangerously? 😂Hehehe, just kidding, I couldn't resist that one. You walked right into it 😊
