When I was a wee boy, I could lucid dream.
Sometimes,
I would see a unicorn, cloaked in shadows of post-midnight.
She crawled across the hall on all fours, and would say,
"Off to bed now."
It was these nights
that I knew
I’d travel to lands
filled with fluttering creatures and ancient castles.
As I grew up,
I saw the unicorn less,
and then never again.
Last week, I went to clean out my parents’ home
and upon opening my mother’s closet,
I found the unicorn:
A leather gimp suit with a pink dildo strapped to its head.

Oh my... I did not see this coming at all. So funny and a great twist. I really connected with the reminiscing of childhood dreams and then, twisted reality. Love it.

Even though we talked about your story in class, it still caught me by surprise. I love how the title works with the story as it adds some mystery to it and I can't express how much I loved the twist at the end!

When you described your story to us, I hadn't pictured such a twist at the end! I was brought back to my childhood "creative dreams." It makes me wonder what some of the things I dreamed about back then, would be today.
