A man name Peter Higgs and six others invented something that's scalar with zero spin.
It’s not so much a particle, but is a quantum excitation of the Higgs field therein.
The Higgs field was for 7 decades, needed to fill the Standard Particle Model in.
Physicists kept inventing till they reached the Cern Hadron Collider experiment.
They kept crashing protons, at higher voltages it went.
Then on the 4th of July, 2012, an amazing event.
They had a graph with what appeared a reliable bump.
All the particles physicists cheered, they had found it and finally over the hump.
