Things on board the ship were dire, it was happening at a fast rate.
Water was gushing in, the ship had sprung a hull plate.
The bilge pump couldn't keep up and everyone knew their fate.
They tried canvas overboard to cover the water’s gush.
Slowed it somewhat, but it just couldn't stop the rush.
The captain depended now, that the radio man could find.
A ship to come to aid everyone and a captain who was kind.
The radio man tried so hard to find and radio another ship.
He found a ship, it’s near and not to fear.
