Tale of the Damaged Bomber

The bomber had two engines out, a wing and tail partly shot away and they were losing height. The waist gunner were desperately trying to stem the radioman and other gunner's bleeding wounds.

They were alone and a perfect target but they had reached the English Channel. The pilot and copilot tried everything to get the plane to fly, they would have to ditch if they couldn't get over the approaching cliffs.

The wounded men were barely alive, unable to parachute...the crew were stuck with an insurmountable problem.

Then the third engine coughed, ran and they slowly started to rise.
