A Bloody Infiltration

The two men charged by the enemy king reached the castle moat. With the guards around the moat and the walls it was going to be a bloody infiltration to kill the queen without escape.

Night fell and they grabbed a guard and cut his throat then swam the moat to a chute used to empty the toilets, where they entered.

The great hall had everyone celebrating and an empty minstrel’s gallery high up, the minstrels were lost in some past battle and the two assassins crept there. Then with a wicked whistle, two crossbow bolts slammed into the Queen.
