Hopping the world #27

by

We had been in Riva del Garda.

We (Stuart, my colleague, and I) drove the van down via the Mont Blanc Tunnel. Quite an experience! But we had to drive it back.

We decided to drive back through France on the Autoroute.

Too far to drive in one, so we stopped at Chalon, found a hotel and parked.

The most charming young girl greeted us at the door. Gorgeously dressed in a blouse and a light summer skirt.

She joined us for dinner at Stuart’s invitation.

Next morning he was ‘too tired to drive’. He slept and I drove.

Fair???

I don’t know how to put the circumflex accent on the ‘o’

On an iPad, you hold down the ‘o’ and a range of the accented letter pop up for you to choose, thus : ô ò õ ø ō ö ö œ. The same with other letters.

Fascinating how gorgeous young women are a such regular feature in your hops. Adds a certaine je ne sais quoi, and in this case, peut être, un peu d’oo-la-la!

Doesn’t seem to work on this iPad. This is all true. I had to drive up to Paris, round the peripherique and on to the hovercraft in Calais. (Long before the tunnel). In fact as I arrived at the Peage before Calais, the guy manning the cash station told me to hang on 10 minutes before paying, because there were speed cops waiting on the far side.

As to gorgeous young women, I haven’t yet told about the incident at the ‘Valley of the thousand waterfalls’, in Croatia. Nor the invitation I got to visit the University of Bratislava. Or of my famous presentation in Prague … to name but three.

Or Sursee in Switzerland, or Montmartre ...
