Walk one million metres between birthdays. One thousand kilometres in 365 days. 2.7 kilometres per day.

‘Easy’ you say … unless you are 80+.

It had to be a virtual walk, so it was a walk entirely round our local park, Cherry Hinton Hall Park. Come wind, cold, rain, flood or shine.

We planned the virtual part of the walk … Cambridge to Dounreay in Scotland, close to John O’Groats.

NOT impossible. We walked the distance in 288 days. Then back down to Loch Lomond and Alexandria - to where I was evacuated during the war.

1,300,000 metres in the year!

It’s a terrific achievement Richard; very well done! By the way, it’s easy to edit your drabbles. Simply go to the ‘Me’ pull down menu on the top line and you get a list of your drabbles in reverse chronological order. Don’t click on the drabble, but click on the icon at the end, after the word ‘ago’ (it’s a box with a pen device). That gets you into the drabble edit mode. Edit then post drabble again. You can amend the number... to a number that is also impressive, but believable! Great achievement whatever👍

Thanks, done that! Now I can get on with the continuation of my 'Behind the Iron Curtain' series ... I am in Romania, in the dollar bar with a gorgeous woman ...

Excellent! There’s nothing quite like a gorgeous Romanian woman.... and I’ve taught rather a lot of gorgeous Romanian women over the years.😁

Which one’s writing the drabbles, you or the rather fine shed?

It’s a watershed and that is Agnes by it. She/we built it from 99.7% up-used material … with the exception of the gutter. Original design by FBS (Fixit, Bodgit and Scrappit). It’s sole purpose is to collect water … hence the name. I do like the name of it, Watershed, because nobody else on the allotments recognises the double entendre.

    Hello Richard!
    Terrific, I salute you!!
I don't think anyone can beat that nowadays! Probably be just a million steps on our watches!
