Four months and fifteen hundred gigabytes of data later, plucked from seeders rare and possibly dead by now, the information was finally there. Meyer was satisfied.

Still plenty to parse, of course. It would have to be studied and decrypted, studied further and then blown wide open. Maximum embarrassment, he thought. Everything they knew, he now knew. He and the Fellowship, of course. (Why hadn't they spilled, yet? They're probably dead too.)

He knew he'd been careful. No one else had mastered an Ouroboros Firewall quite like him. SETI's secrets were coming home.

He heard tyres on the gravel.
