A Little Less Conversation

Dinner ended badly.

It's hard to put in to words exactly why.

Not just because they didn't get any of those little chocolates.

Not just because the wedding ring box wouldn't open, as her repugnant child had got to it first and superglued it shut.

Not just because her repugnant child had set fire to the house in a desperate attempt to stop the proposal from happening.

Not just because they didn't even find this out from a phonecall, but from the local media turning up in the restaurant.

Mainly, it was because he realised he just didn't love her.
