I don't think of blackberries as members of the rose family. Butterflies must if you insist be insects if not in fact flies. Ladybirds hardly seem like beetles. Are Zebras really horses? Can killer whales be dolphins? Might Magpies not be crows after all? Dandelions can't be weeds, come on. I have had time, you understand, to adjust to the tomato being a fruit. That a squirrel is a rodent feels unlikely but not impossible. Is there a spider that no one thinks of as a spider? Just about certain there isn't but jumping spiders may be the closest contenders.

A lot of food for thought here, Jamie!

Ta Neville. Writing it gave me something to think about anyway, :-)

Same here about the tomatoes. And I don't know what they're actually called but we had spiders where I grew up we called daddy long-legs that we used to play with and I never considered them spiders.

They were spiders but I was always told they weren't dangerous to humans, so we would play with them. I looked it up. Pholcidae was the technical name.

    I don't think I've seen one since I was a kid.
