Jon was at the right port, wrong time. Still, at least there were lanterns and boats and the Moon. An inn too, all the reflections broken into wriggling coloured strips of ribbon.
Later a stranger joined him in the inn. 'You have the look of someone stood up.' 'I accidentally stood another up. You have the look of a piece of ribbon blowing in the wind.' ' So do you..' He checked the mirror and it was true. And why did his drink taste of boat lapping water? Perhaps they were living a butterfly splash made by a flying fish
