The story has as many variations as the Moon has shades of grey, but I like the version where Dipta says how the actual Grasshopper he and Arach have saved from being just too lucky in love reminds him so much of a tiny green Moon digger that he can imagine the two prospectors inside it, pretending to count their pieces of orange and green volcanic glass under the grey pear light before heading home, Spider really counting the times she has secretly let fly go, and Fly counting the times he has let her think she nearly caught him.

Nice. (Sorry for not commenting on every drabble I read today, but I'm trying to play catch-up.)

This was fun! I do recollect your other drabble, the ripe banana lights, painting twilight and those chocolate wine shadows. I'm in awe of how intricately you craft the shades.

Thanks so much Verity, glad you enjoyed it. And hope the memory of the chocolate wine shadows tastes nice. :-) )
