Can there be anything more fiddly – apart from wiring a three-pin plug – than sewing on a button? Yes, feeding thread into a needle.
Mrs P makes it look easy. I put that down to a steadier hand, better eyesight and more patience.
My attempts owe more to luck than skill. The end of the thread dances tantalisingly round the eyelet of the needle until my hands tremble with concentration. Just when I think I’ve succeeded, I hold onto the thread and the needle falls to the floor.
Perhaps it is easier to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Chris, I am so delighted to see you back on Drablr. Firstly let me wish you a happy and healthy 2023. Secondly, I hope you are well, and thirdly... that needle thing really is a pain... love the ‘dances tantalisingly around’... such a brilliantly accurate description, because that’s exactly what those pesky threads do!

This made me smile... actually, I do use this little thingy called a needle threader. It makes life easier but then again, I rarely sew. My daughter has a sewing machine (very handy :-D )
