Johns SAD

Aliens. John yearned for them. He wanted to meet them, not to find out that "we" were not alone in the universe, but to finally feel like he wasn't.

He can't remember when it began, some point in his teens perhaps. An invisible field, began blocking skills he was previously able to execute naturally.

People, all around him, began to look different. Physically they were the same, but something else had changed, that he couldn't explain.

Communication detoriated at that point, john became increasingly more isolated, as this new species carried on, without him, as if nothing changed at all.
