The Night Demons

Why is it they always appear at night? As soon as the sun sets the constant thumping begins, sounding almost like a beat. The noises are terrifying, little moans here and there until the wee hours when the screaming begins full volume. No possession of yours is safe, not even your garden gnomes. They can become aggressive, violent even, if you so much as look at them. They will take over your house, make it their own, you are powerless to this. They will mentally drain you into a shell, and keep going for their amusement. I bloody hate teenagers.
