“Oh, Charles, it’s lovely!” Catherine took off her old pink bonnet and replaced it with the new one.
“Happy Birthday, kitten.”
“You know me so well. You’re the best big brother.”
Percy nodded. “Indeed. You should have seen his determination. He dragged me into that hat shop so quickly I thought my arm would surely be detached from my body.”
“Percy, you are so silly.”
“That’s me,” he smiled and crossed his eyes, making her giggle.
“Your timing is impeccable, Charles. I was just on my way out.” She kissed her brother goodbye.
Charles glared at his friend.
