Gridlock

Life is a journey, apparently.

In which case, I'm experiencing a perfect storm of RMT strikes, fog, French air traffic controllers, leaves on the line and an overheight vehicle in the Blackwall Tunnel.

This journey once seemed so simple, but now I worry about my vehicle. Its mileage is creeping up, it looks shabby and unremarkable.

Maybe I need an overhaul (servicing seems too double an entendre!)

Now it's first and neutral, creeping forward with no SatNav, lost on a jammed backstreet.

I'm worried my head gasket might fail - the gauges are creeping higher into the red.

Disaster looms ominously.
