The Andersen Chronicles #18

by

”You got glasses!”
”Yea, just for reading though.”
”Make you look smart.”
“And before I looked…?”
“No, no…, you always looked…, I mean…”
“Just messing with you.”
“Oh, you’re evil.”
“And smart …”
“Smart looking, is what I said – any progress on your thesis?”
“It’s going ok.”
“That well, huh?”
“Well, when doing dishes becomes your displacement activity of choice…”
“What’s your subject?”
“Precarious work.”
“Never heard of it.”
“It’s employment with high levels of uncertainty, fixed term contracts, poor social protection, stuff like that. Precarious work is just a term to confuse non-jurists.”
“That’s evil.”
“And smart.”

Is this really what your thesis is on?

Yep, it may not be the sexiest subject in the world, but I quite like labor law, and since there is a steady increase in levels of precarious work here in Denmark and in the EU, there are plenty of angels to attack and questions to consider. And so, precarious work and non-standard employment relationships has become what I get up in the morning to write about – reading and writing drabbles is a nice break!

Just noticed a spelling mistake - in my comment reply I ment to write angles, NOT angels! I'll try harder. Promise.
