Two friends sat in a streetside café, discussing recent life choices over coffee and bagels.
“And isn’t this surgery illegal?” Frankie asked.
“Shhh…” said Mark, spreading cream cheese. “Besides, four-eyes, wouldn’t you love perfect vision?”
“Yeah, but—”
“Superior strength? Advanced healing? This ‘modding’ thing is all the rage. It’s also the future of medicine.”
Frankie took another sip of flavored coffee.
“I’m sure it is. Just don’t complain when you decide you don’t like having three arms.”
“That won’t happen. Dr. M says there’s no chance of addiction.”
“Whatever you say, Mark. You always wanted to be ‘something more.’”
