The boy saw the shining moon hanging in the night sky like low fruit, his friend joining as they ran excitedly towards it to touch.
Exhausted, they eventually stopped.
“Daddy, why can’t I reach it? Is it far away?”
“Yes.”
“But it’s so big. It looks so close.”
“Yes, son. Dreams are like that. But remember this. Never stop running toward your dreams. Keep them close to your heart, and don’t think how far they may be. One day, you will reach them.”
“Even the moon?” I asked.
“Even the moon,” my father said.
The astronaut stopped to take questions.
